How watching a movie online is better than downloading it in respect of limited download size?

I had taken a limited download connection (1 GB) where as browsing is unlimited. How does watching a movie online compared to download it and watch it later will help me, so that my download limit cannot exceeds? I mean is data downloaded through my connection is same for downloading a 100MB movie and watching a 100 MB movieonline?

1. I,m not sure I fully understand your question but usally doing anything online goes into a temporary file that is later deleted wheras downloading anything will occupy space on your hard drive and stays there untill you remove it
