How many gigabytes is an online movie?

I am wondering if anyone knows how many gigabytes are transferred when you watch an online streaming movie from Netflix. I have Comcast and am worried about hitting their stupid limits if I say watch one movie a day or something like that.

  1. If it is full res HD 720i that would be about 5GB
  2. I would not worry about it. I have Comcast as well and they do not really care about what you or how much data you download off the internet. The only thing that might get their attention and cut you off is if you upload a lot of data. I had a friend who hosted an FTP server and so many people were downloading data from him that Comcast pulled the plug on him. Personally I do not think you will hit the limit just by streaming movies. Hope this helps.
  3. Depends on if you watch HD or regular. Check this site out to see how big movie files are: http://www.grabaid.com If you are worried about hitting limits, download movies from them, but do not select the HD ones. When not HD, the movies is generally about 1/5 of the size. (800MB) I have Comcast too and watch about a movie a day from this site, but rarely HD. I also have my phone through the net, and my wife is also online with her computer. So far we have never hit any limits. Enjoy.
