How come they closed Pacific Cinema 6 movie theater? I live in Oak Park and the only thing we have here is that movie theater in University Square and on July 19th they closed it! I wish there was something i could do but first I need to find out why they closed it down. Anybody know?
What Seattle theaters are capable of showing 3D movies? Excluding the IMAX theater at Pacific Science Center, what theaters in the Seattle area are capable of showing the new 3D formatted movies, such as the recent "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and the upcoming "Up" from Pixar? Many movies are being developed in the new format, and my understanding is that "normal" movie theaters--not just IMAX--can be upgraded to show this new format. But which theaters are doing it? The Coraline hint helped. I found this: Theaters showing Coraline 3D Bella Bottega Redmond, WA, 98052 425-556-9323 REAL D 3D Meridian Seattle, WA, 98101 223-9600 x808 REAL D 3D
What Mommy & Me movie is showing at The Grove in L.A.? Does anyone know where I can find out which movie is showing each week for the Mommy & Me movie that plays every Monday at the Pacific Theaters at the Grove? Is there a website somewhere that lists is? Or do I need to call in every time to find out the movie of the week? Thanks!
what is the name of that horror movie? Hey .. how is it going? I've seen previews of a movie last summer in one of the theaters in LA (I think it was the pacific theaters) anyway .. the movie was about a man having sex with his girlfriend and she suddenly dies ... so he freaks out and he goes and tell his friends (his friends were in the other room) and they tell him that he should get rid of the body (his girlfriend and his friends are playing a joke on him ,, his girlfriend is not really dead) and they go to a far place and they dig a hole to throw the body in it .. and when they finished digging they told him that they should start cutting the body to parts .. so he immediately goes and stick an ax (i'm not sure that it was an ax) in her throat and she dies so the joke is on them now .. please can anybody tell me the name of that movie?? thanx (I love cashews) .. it's Sorority Row .. u have really helped me out man :D

Mommy & Me Movies? Have you been to a Mommy & Me Movie? Where movie theaters set aside one showing specifically for moms and their babies? They have them at the Pacific Theaters in Los Angeles and I've been thinking of going but wasn't sure what to expect. Is it just full of screaming babies? Did you have a good or bad experience? Do the moms just hold their babies in their arms the whole time? Are you allowed to bring strollers in there? Or car seats? Thanks.

Has anyone received a call from Pacific Monarch regarding a possible draw for 1 of 5 prizes? I got a call today from 619-516-4276, they called me 3 times an left a voicemail to call 800-369-1010, so I called I was told they got my name and number from a draw I filled out at the Edards Movie Theater in Aliso Viejo (which I did) and that I was in the top 5 to win 1 out of the following 5 prizes: Cadillac Escalade or $100,000 (cash) Cruise Trip to Hawaii Tip to Vegas Home Theater System They told me I had to attend a 90 min presentation (time share, I suppose) and there is no obligation to buy. I have to go to a place in Newport Beach, CA (Pacific Monarch) and then after the 90 min presentation I would have to scratch one of those cards and my prize would be revealed. I looked up online, some places say it's a rip-off, some say it's legit... I actually wanna know if someone EVER heard about this and/or if someone won the $100,000 or the car.
Does anyone think the school PCA {Pacific Coast Academy} from Zoey 101 I'm going to build is a great idea? I have Zoey 101 on DVDs at home in my room all 4 seasons of the show! And Michael, Chase, Quinn, and Lola are my favorite chararcters in that show! But believe it or not, it's not the kids and fun on Zoey 101 that I like, NO it's ACTUALLY the PCA {Pacific Coast Academy} campus and school itself that's what I like on the show. The school and campus. And someday I want to build the school PCA from Zoey 101 in Sydney, Australia and make it a real co-ed boarding school someday in reality! You know the PCA boarding school from Zoey 101. I want to really build it someday in Australia and make it a REAL boarding school for kids and adults to attend ages 13 and up because when I build the PCA boarding school in Australia it's going to be both a University College and an a Academy Boarding School called "Pacific Coast Academy" from the show Zoey 101! Yep it's true. Someday I'm REALLY going to build the school from Zoey 101 in Sydney, Australia and make it a real school someday! Now my question is. When I build the PCA school in Australia from Zoey 101, should I just build the same way it is from the show, OR should it build it and add some MORE fun activities and building place to it like... A galleria mall, a bowling alley, some restaurants, an a amusement park, a movie theater and thing like that? And when I build the PCA shool from Zoey 101 in reality someday. Do you think that'll be cool? And will you ateend it too???

War movie ID? I'm looking for the name of a war film i saw when was younger. It is fairly old, probably 1950's or 60's, but in colour. It is set in the pacific theatre, initially on an American warship. I can't remember much about it, but key points were the gun that the main character carried around - a Lewis machine gun (large barrel with a flat cylindrical box magazine on the top), taken from the warship (i remember a scene where is is in a desert with it!). There is another scene where some unfortunate person is being executed by the Japanese using 'death by a thousand cuts.' Sorry, not much to go on, but i'd really like to see this film again. Thanks for any help!!
New war movie from the makers of "Band of Brothers"? I heard there is a new war movie by the makers of band of brothers coming out sometime in 09, does anyone know the name of this movie and when it will be showing or released? I believe its a WWII movie like Band of brothers but instead of in the European theater of war its in the Pacific.
Can you give me your opinion? My assignment is to write an essay that compares two cities (compare and contrast). I would like to know if I should add anything to it to make it stronger. Also if i should remore something. thank you! Comparing Two Cities – Santa Monica and Beverly Hills Santa Monica has been a rendezvous to many people who reside in it as well as tourists in the world. For the last two decades, the city has had a growth in population including tourism. Despite that event, Beverly Hills is a very popular city just as well as Santa Monica; they have many similarities and differences based on topics like location, population, and activities. Santa Monica is located in the state of California; a city in western Los Angeles County. The city is surrounded by many cities; such as, Los Angeles- Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, west Los Angeles, Mar Vista, and Venice. Just six miles away is Beverly Hills. This city is also in the western part of Los Angeles County, California. The city is neighbored by West Hollywood and the City of Los Angeles. These two cities are on the same coasts a few miles away from the Pacific Ocean. It is obvious that both these cities have a similar temperature. Santa Monica’s weather average is 50-71 degrees Fahrenheit with September averaging the warmest month and January the coolest. Beverly Hills’ climate is slightly different; its weather average is 49-78 degrees Fahrenheit with August being the warmest month and January the coolest month. Both cities maximum average precipitation is in the month of February. Beverly Hills averages more precipitation than Santa Monica by 5.4 inches, however. Beverly Hills has a warm and moderate Mediterranean climate while Santa Monica usually enjoys a cool breeze blowing in from the ocean, keeping the air fresh and clean. Santa Monica’s population today is 88,050 people. It has had a significant growth of people in the last two decades and has been people’s favorite city since the 20th century due to its lovely and perfect weather. The racial makeup in Santa Monica is as follows: 78.54% Whites, 13.05% Hispanics, 3.50% Blacks or African American, 7.55% Asian, and 9.94% other. The population in Beverly Hills is 34,600 people. A very large Persian/ Iranian community abides in Beverly Hills. The racial makeup for this city is: 84.89% Whites, 4.21% Hispanics, 1.75% Blacks, 7.67 Asians, and 5.53% other. Many people have chosen to live in Santa Monica since the beach is just a few feet away. The pier has food, games, rides, and many shops and restaurants. Also the 3rd street promenade is a few blocks from the pier and is a fun and exciting place for everyone. The promenade has dozens of clothing stores and boutiques. There are movie theaters, cafes, and ice cream stores. You do not need to leave Santa Monica because all the entertainment is there. On the other hand, Beverly Hills does not have even half of the places Santa Monica does. That is not the reason why its population is lower than Santa Monica, however. Beverly Hills expenses are too high that it’s a home to the rich and famous and those who can afford it. There is a lot to enjoy in Beverly Hills, too. For example, it is a nice area with large and luxurious homes. In addition to enjoying a nice view, the streets are safer and cleaner. This is why there are many people who rent. Not all of Beverly Hills populations are home owners. Many of them enjoy the security and tranquility with the help of the police who keep the city beautiful. There are many very expensive stores, and lots of cafes. In both cities, their population of whites is more prominent and the percentage continues to increase. Since more people are moving to Santa Monica, there are more jobs available. However, there is a decline in jobs in Beverly Hills. In popular cities there are always activities to get involved with. In Santa Monica one can go to Museums; such as, the Getty Museum, California Heritage Museum, Historical Museum, and the Art Museum. In addition to Museums, the pier is a fun place to go to. There is a roller coaster, Ferris wheel, bumper cars, and an arcade. There is the third street promenade to explore as well as South American, Asian, and Middle Eastern restaurants. Or one can simply enjoy the waves in the mornings or at sunset. In Beverly Hills, one can go to the most expensive restaurant in LA, Urasawa. There are Beauty Salons, Coldwater Canyon Park and other parks, historical places like Graystone Park. Celebrities are seen dining in Urasawa’s Japanese restaurant and getting their hair done in Beverly Hills. There are exquisite stores and lounge and spa where one can relax and enjoy a massage. While Santa Monica and Beverly Hills are six miles apart, they have different weather patterns, they share a number of similarities in terms of population, and activities.
Looking back on the 20th century, do you think Japan is too easily forgotten? In school and pop culture it seems the Nazis get all the attention. Tons of movies, tv, books, history channel, ect devoted to the evils of Nazi Germany. Many people I have spoken to usually refers to the Nazis as the top dog of war crimes. Yet, I also find that there is almost an ignorance or willingness to overlook Japan. However I find that even the SS troops at their worst would have had difficulty matching the brutality, racism, and fanaticism routinely displayed by the Japanese military; their cruelty towards, and frequent mass slaughter of prisoners of war and civilians; their wanton destruction of cities, towns and villages; their rape camps; even cannibalism. Do you think that Imperial Japan's atrocities are overlooked by people in the west? Why does the European Theater stick out in American minds and media, when thinkingof ww2, far more than the pacific theater? What do you attribute it to? I don't know harv.... How do you droop a nuck anyway? Why are you so hostile? It is an issue, because many people in Asia feel that Japan is not sorry for the crimes they commited during ww2. This hostility is very relevent when speaking about Japan-China-Korea relations. May I follow it up with: "What the freak is your problem?" harv, I like this past comment: "what a big deal if Japan would gain a few islands in pacific region in WWII'. Ok, I get the ideda what psycoville you are coming from

What are the wierd/funkiest yet affordable nieghborhoods in portland and seattle? HI! my boyfriend and i are looking to move to the pacific nw, and are specifically looking at portland, or and seattle, wa. however, i am not sure of what area/district/neighborhoods will fit us best to make a proper decision. a little about us: we are vegetarian, dog lovers (one dog each, so far), who love zombies, rock music, midnight movie theaters, places that dont close down at 9 pm, dive bars, vintage clothes, whole foods, etc. he is working on a masters degree to be a teacher and i am looking into graphic design. he is 28 and i am 26. we can afford $800-950 a month, no less than 2 bedrooms. would rather have a house or duplex, but be in the mix, not the burbs. at the same time, we dont want to feel like we are gonna get raped, mugged, shot or whatever walking around at night. also, what are the job markets like in these cities? how hard would it be to find work, in any field not necessarily in our niche's? any advice? * addition: everyone who has answered so far, i am very thankful, you all have been very informative! i am not a level 2 yet so i cannot vote your answers so i just wanted to give a HUGE thanks for taking the time to respond! jessi
Best neighborhood in Portland, Oregon? What is the "best" neighborhood in Portland, Oregon? I am a 20-something, single female with dog moving to Portland from Chicago. I know there are so many awesome neighborhoods in Portland, but I am so lost as I am unfamiliar with all of them. Being from Chicago, I love being able to walk everywhere: boutiques, grocery stores, movie theaters, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. I am looking for the same type of neighborhood in Portland. If anyone is familiar with Berkeley, CA, a neighborhood with that kind of flavor would be awesome too... again, that just means having the ability to walk to cool shops, etc. Also, I am going to be attending Pacific University as a grad student, so I'd like to live somewhere near public transportation that serves that area. With all of that in mind, any suggestions? Thanks!
Recommend any good Vietnam or World War II movies/TV series? I like war history and war movies. Anyone know of a good movie that isn't in black and white and isn't one of the following movies. Saving Private Ryan The thin red line Apocalypse now Platoon Band of Brothers HBO TV series Defiance Please only Vietnam or World War II (European and Pacific theater) Oh I forgot all about Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of our fathers. I watched both. I think I liked Letters from Iwo Jima better though.
Do you find that fewer and fewer merchants are taking Discover Card? I have had a Discover card for 7 years and still enjoy using it. It is the only credit card I use. They offer 24 hour telephone customer service with agents here in the United States that speak clear english. Many other companies like Chase and Citicards have their call centeres in India and don't have 24 hour customer service. The major problem I'm having is that fewer and fewer merchants take Discover Card. Many restuaratns don't accept it. Even national chains like Jamba Juice, The Coffee Bean/Tealeaf and Il Fornaio don't take Discover. Rather than have two credit card bills per month I would rather pay cash than use my Chase Visa card. Three out of 4 times I end up paying cash for my meals out becuase they don't take discover. Two local movie theater chains near me AMC and Pacific only take Visa,Mastercard and AMEX. When buying a ticket online with Virgin America they don't take Discover. I ended up flying Southwest Airlines instead bacause they take Discover and I don't want to use my Cahse Visa card. Will Discover go out of bussiness or disapear beacuse of their small market share. Many people act as if Discover Card does not exist. The reason I applied for one in 2001 is because Visa and Mastercard turned me down numberous times and Discover is the only company that approved me. My bank ATM card is not a debit card. My ATM card does not have a Visa or Mastercard logo on it. My little independant bank does not offer debit cards. Only ATM cards to withdraw money. My bank ATM card is not a debit card. A Broadway-Movie Question? Some of the finest performances in entertainment history were theater productions on Broadway. Think Richard Burton in Equus, Gwen Verdon in Chicago, Mary Martin in South Pacific... Why have those performances never been filmed? It's such a loss for future generations not to be able to see Yul Brenner, for example, perform in The King and I. Why can't the producers just hold one "dress rehearsal," get some cinematographers, and film? I've lived far away from Broadway for many years and would just *love* to see a play-- much, much more than seeing a "movie" where everything-- the cast, sets, even the soundtrack!-- is done "big". I know this sounds really really simplistic, but can someone explain why producers don't save those incredible presentations? Both excellent answers and very hard to choose from! Thank you, both!

How do I deal with these flying fears? I am afraid of flying on an airplane. Not deathly afraid but still. i LOVE the airport but i hate waiting for the flight. i get an ache and butterflies in my stomach most of the time. I KNOW its like one of the safest forms of transportations so don't tell me that. it won't help. I just hate HATE hate the feeling when it's taking off. i know most people love it because you feel like it's a roller coaster. i love roller coasters but hate that feeling bcuz you're closed into a heavy plane and are at a big angle. it feels so horrible to me. yea i guess i have claustrophobia too. lol. it just doesnt seem physically possible that a SUPER heavy airplane can just glide thru the air w/o it come crashing down. lol think about it. and ya ya ya i kno that it stays in the air fine bcuz of the wings and jets and blah blah blah. but i still dont like the feeling. wow this is long. ty for reading it. i only have a couple more things!! I always think its going to just miss the runway [which can happen] and crash and burn up in flames and i'll be freakin trapped in a burning plane. and recently i watched the movie knowing [still in theaters; awesome movie] which has a scene with a burning crashed plane and tons of ppl on fire screaming and running frantically. lol thats about all. haha . oh AND i live in FL and soon i will have to fly north to georgia and west ...not to texas ...ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE US AND ACROSS MOST OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN TO HAWAII. thats wayy too long :( i dont have an ipod but i do have a DS and a Zune but you cant use electronics during take off....don't get me wrong tho...i do like short flights like the one i took from miami to ft myers...we flew much much lower and the city lights were beautiful...but anyways ya...TYSM<3 tami thanx dan! still flying over the p/o seems a longg way...but i feel better. haha bout the fish thing
Songs for a professional audition? Okay, I've got my first audition for a professional theatre job in a couple of weeks, and I'm not sure which song I should pick. I've got a list, but I don't know what would be best. I don't want to sound like some amateur who's only auditioning for a community theatre job. On my list I have (in no specific order): -I Enjoy Being a Girl (Flower Drum Song) -Getting to Know You (the King and I) -Journey to the Past (Anastasia) -A Cockeyed Optimist (South Pacific) -Soon (from the movie Thumbelina) -Once upon a December (Anastasia) -In my Own Little Corner (R & H's Cinderella) -Impossible (R & H's Cinderella) -Nothing (A Chorus Line) -If I Ruled the World (Pickwick) So what do you all think would be best? If it helps at all, I'm a Mezzo-soprano with a fairly strong belt and a full 3 octave range. Thanks muchly! Okay, guys. I don't have time to learn a new song. The songs on my list are all ones that I know really well and have all gotten me in to a show of some kind. Stick to the list please.

PLEASE HELP ME!!! 10 POINTS!!!? "The Great Train Robbery" 1.) Kevin Gilmore anxiously anticipated the video that had been scheduled. For this session of the motion picture club, a twelve-minute, black-and-white classic called "The Great Train Robbery" was being shown. Filmed in 1903, it was the first narrative film in history! Edwin S. Porter, the man who had conceived, directed, and edited the film, based it on a felony that occurred in 1900. To prepare for the meeting, Kevin had read a short vignette of the crime in an encyclopedia. Butch Cassidy's "Wild Bunch" gang had robbed a train near Table Rock, Wyoming. They stopped the Union Pacific's No. 3 train and forced the conductor to unfasten the passenger cars from the rest of the train. Then they blew up the mail car's safe and ran off with $5,000 in cash. 2.) Kevin thought it was funny that the film was shot in New Jersey and Delaware, in areas that closely resembled the country in the Old West. He considered it extraordinary that Porter was a newsreel photographer who worked for Thomas Edison. Did Edison give him any ideas for special effects? Surely working for the great inventor would have been an exceptional experience that would have left an indelible impression on Porter. Some day Kevin wanted to direct movies with mind-boggling special effects. That's why he had recently joined the club. 3.) Eventually the lights dimmed, and the show began. Kevin sat forward and studied each scene. He burst out in brief laughter when the first man was shot, but the older members of the club quickly shushed him. Yes, the shooting was despicable, but did they not see how phony it looked? However, Kevin resisted the urge to indulge in further merriment until the startling conclusion. At that point the others' stern looks served only to intensify his amusement. 4.) The facilitator, whose personal quirk was to wink after asking a question, stood and explained the reaction to the movie when it was released one hundred years ago. Kevin was amused to learn that audiences, believing themselves to be witnessing a horrific event, would scream and run from the theater in distress. Truly, it seemed an excessive response to a short, hokey movie! Did they not consider the acting to be stilted and the fighting to be fake? 5.) When the facilitator asked for comments, Kevin waved his hand in the air. With a grimace, Mr. P. searched the room for other raised hands. Finding none, he called on Kevin. 6.) Speaking in his characteristic straightforward manner, Kevin said, "I hate to malign a classic, but for being such a short film, it was awfully full of clichés. I mean, come on! Shooting at a guy's feet to make him dance? Shooting a man in the back as he runs away? Forming a posse to chase the bad guys? Having the bad guys wear black? I'm surprised there wasn't a damsel in distress tied to the railroad tracks!" 7.) Mr. P. repulsed Kevin's comments. "Those clichés, as you call them, didn't exist at the time this movie was filmed. Did you not understand that this film was the first of its kind?" The wink was out of place, given Mr. P's obvious annoyance with Kevin's perceived disrespect for Porter's film. 8.) "You have to admit that the fight scenes could have been more realistic," Kevin argued. "I mean, the villain beats up a man, but we don't see the punches land, because there's an obstacle in our line of vision. Then the villain throws the man off the train, but it's clearly a dummy flying through the air! I've seen that routine on comedy shows a million times!" 9.) "Porter didn't have access to trained actors and actresses," Jameka Johnson replied. "He also didn't have access to the technology that we have today. Considering his limitations, he did a remarkable job − in my opinion." 10.) "In the opinion of many," Mr. P. added with a nod, as if to impress Kevin. "If you were the filmmaker, what would you do differently with this story?" 11.) Wren's hand shot up. "I would create roles for women!" she said. "I would have the matriarch of a family board the train with her adult children and young grandchildren. Rather than allowing the porter to show them to their seats, the old woman would lead the way and choose the seats she wants. Then when the bandits board the train, she would stand up to them. She might even pull out a pistol and shoot at them!" 12.) Kevin rolled his eyes, unmoved by Wren's enthusiasm. "I would have two families involved in an ongoing feud board the same train. They would have to cooperate with each other to form a plan to thwart the robbery attempt." 13.) The discussion continued, but Kevin's mind was on his idea. He began to scribble an outline for a screenplay. Excitement mounted as he imagined himself using his father's camcorder to film his friends acting out the scenes. He gave a sidelong glance at Jameka, considering her for a role in his movie. It would have to be a minor role to keep her humble. 14.) Jameka caught Kevin staring 14.) Jameka caught Kevin staring at her. Her eyes narrowed, wondering what mischief was afoot. She thought it might be fun to write a screenplay about a goofy guy who daydreams about being a screenwriter. Her lips curved into a sly grin. 1.) . This story is written mainly from Kevin's point of view. Only one paragraph is written from another viewpoint. Which paragraph is it? Paragraph 7 Paragraph 4 Paragraph 14 Paragraph 11 2.) Where did the real train robbery take place? Wyoming, 1900 New Jersey, 1903 Delaware, 1900 The Old West, 1903 3.) Who was responsible for the filming of "The Great Train Robbery"? Butch Cassidy Kevin Gilmore Edwin Porter Eddie Post 4.) Which of these is a fact in the story? The acting in the film was laughable. The film contained mind-boggling special effects. Porter copied famous comedy routines in his movie. The film was the first Western movie ever made. 5.) True or False: Butch Cassidy was a fictional character. True False - - - - - - 6.) Which of these words best describes the relationship between Kevin and Jameka? Provoking Awkward Friendly Repulsive 7.) From its context, what is the meaning of the word indelible in paragraph two? Unforgettable Irreplaceable Good Mind-boggling 8.) Kevin Gilmore was inspired by the film or the discussion. true false ----- ----- 9.) Wren was also enthusiastic about the film and her inspiration to create a screenplay. true false ----- ----- 10.) Mr. P was somewhat annoyed by Kevin’s incessant questioning. true false ---- ----

14.) Jameka caught Kevin staring This story is written mainly from Kevin's point of view. Looking back on the 20th century, do you think Japan is too easily forgotten? In school and pop culture it seems the Nazis get all the attention. Tons of movies, tv, books, history channel, ect devoted to the evils of Nazi Germany. In some people's minds WW2 seems to be all about The European theater. Do you that Imperial Japan's atrocities are overlooked by people in the west? Why does the European Theater stick out in American minds and media, when thinking of ww2, far more than the pacific theater? What do you attribute it to? To hell with clint eastwood, I take it he never heard of the The Kokoda track Wow, you guys are proving my point. Look, even Nazi officers helping out the Japanese felt uncomfortable with there actions. Using live Chinese people for bayonet practice, burning prisoners alive, Doing massive biological experiments on people, eating villagers in Borneo, building cities of sex slaves in Korea........why make excuses for this stuff?

The example that he cited are based on relationships, yes- whether they be a cousin or a hairdresser. However, the GREAT BIG DIFFERENCE is that when someone goes out of their way to verbally expound the degree of influence that someone has on you as well as when you tout this person as a role model or "mentor" - well now this is VERY dofferent. By doing this, you indeed are connecting yourself to this person in every way since you indicated that their beliefs were used to mentor and foster your own beliefs. When you look up to someone as a mentor or role model, you are believing in the basic principles of theirs. Obama's open statements to th ereverend being his spiritual mentor and best friend makes his beliefs as suspect as the reverend's. In addition, Obama can now denounce all he wants to but how could he be a parishioner for 17 years and listen to these types of statements if as Obama NOW states are "outrageous"? I think that we need to realy questiob Obama's truthfullness or question his judgement. In either case, the country should seriously reconsider any support for such a candidate. It is frightening that Obama's paltform really emphasizes "change" and his real agenda would seem to indicate other. We need to change our support to Senator Clinton and assure her success in November.3/17/2008 9:05:12 PMRecommend (0) Report Abuse Discussion Policy LISANROY wrote:amemended comments of dr kamal roy dt 3,17,2008LISANROY wrote:COMmENTS OF REV DR KAMAL KARNA Karuna ROY A REPUBLICAN CANIDATE AND HoPEFUL TO BE the NOMINEE OF GOP IN SCHEDULED ELECTION FOr NOV 4, 2008, IF BE HELD WITHOUT any COURT ORDER OF INJUNCTION to postpone corrpt election as PRAYED BY DR kamal k k ROY ALLEGING SKY_HIGH AND CLOUD_DARK CORRUPTIONS BY DEFENDANTS IN CIVIL ACTIONS FILED IN 20+ U S D COURT actions in 20+ different JURISDICTIONS with allegations against defendants for negligence to enforce laws not TO PUSH OUT ELECTORAL CONTESTANTS FROM WEAKER COMMUNITIES OF HAVE-nots 3/17/2008 9:04:05 PMRecommend (0) Report Abuse Discussion Policy rmorris391 wrote:well this is "midly amusing". It is a thinly veiled attempt to incite debate over issues, and non-issues, which may be unrelated to the national campaign. While the Mainstream Media (MSM) has too much time on its hands, to consider a long winded campaign, the focus has shifted to non-political discourse, about intractable problems that confound american society. We have issues related to baseball players, after all, who alledgedly used illegal substances to puff up their biceps. Certainly, congress can devise a surge campaign to intervene with major league baseball, and save the poor players from the rich players. After all, the economic crisis in MLB is looming, and requires some "foreign ownership equity." This is, afterall the land of "ownership." At least that is what a young president Bush promised the american public. Just clarifying, not being confrontational.______________I don't think they will. He is untested. Has done little in the senate but run for president. The Wright story was not out when he was getting votes from whites due to his "unity" message. It falls flat now. As I said before, I think he loses that Wright issue any way you slice it. Either he didn't think his church was controversial or he didn't know. Which is it? Supporting someone who you say is your "mentor" who says "appalling" things with thousands of dollars is worse than saying them yourself. At least the pastor is being honest. Roy has filed lawsuits against God, U.S. Presidents, Supreme Court Justices, fast food restaurants, foreign leaders.[2], and Wikipedia [3] [4].Roy's lawsuits have addressed, among many other things, actions taken by President George W. Bush, overcharging by telecommunication companies, the appointment of Chief Justice John Roberts to the Supreme Court, and "failure of democratic societies and God's role therein."[5] In 2006 Judge Michael W. McConnell of The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit described a typical Roy complaint:Roy, a/k/a Joseph Geronimo, Jr. filed a 115-page complaint, a 144-page amended complaint, and a 40-page second amended complaint against over sixty defendants, including among many others President Bush, God as U.S.-based divine benefactor, several government agencies, The New York Times, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. In addition to pages of rambling discourse, the complaint contains numerous illegible handwritten remarks.[6]The Tenth Circuit went on to affirm the district court's dismissal of the complaint holding that no discernible claim was apparent from the complaint. Judge McConnell also humorously noted that the court "strongly suspect[ed] at least one defendant was not properly served."[7]Most, if not all, of Roy's complaints have been dismissed. A 2006 United States District Court for the District of Delaware opinion, Jungle Democracy v. Keating Five The Keating Five (or Keating Five Scandal) refers to a Congressional scandal related to the collapse of most of the Savings and Loan institutions in the United States in the late 1980s. Following the deregulation of the banking industry in the 1980s, savings and loan associations (also known as thrifts) were given the flexibility to invest their depositors' funds in commercial real estate. (Previously, they had been restricted to investing in residential real estate.) Many savings and loan associations began making risky investments. As a result, the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, the federal agency that regulates the industry, tried to clamp down on the trend. In so doing, however, the FHLBB clashed with the Reagan administration, whose policy was deregulation of many industries, including the thrift industry. The administration declined to submit budgets to Congress that would request more funding for the FHLBB's regulatory efforts. In 1989, the Lincoln Savings and Loan Association of Irvine, Calif., collapsed. Lincoln's chairman, Charles H. Keating Jr., was faulted for the thrift's failure. Keating, however, told the House Banking Committee that the FHLBB and its former chief Edwin J. Gray were pursuing a vendetta against him. Gray testified that several U.S. senators had approached him and requested that he ease off on the Lincoln investigation. It came out that these senators had been beneficiaries of $1.3 million (collective total) in campaign contributions from Keating. This allegation set off a series of investigations by the California government, the United States Department of Justice, and the Senate Ethics Committee. The ethics committee's investigation focused on five senators: Alan Cranston (D-CA); Dennis DeConcini (D-AZ); John Glenn (D-OH); John McCain (R-AZ); and Donald W. Riegle, Jr. (D-MI), who became known as the Keating Five. After months of testimony revealed that all five senators acted improperly to differing degrees, the senators continually said they were following the status quo of campaign funding practices. In August 1991, the committee concluded that Cranston, DeConcini, and Riegle's conduct constituted substantial interference with the FHLBB's enforcement efforts and that they had done so at the behest of Charles Keating. The committee recommended censure for Cranston and criticized the other four for "questionable conduct." As it happened, Cranston, who was nearly 80 years of age, had already decided not to run for re-election in 1992. DeConcini and Riegle continued to serve in the Senate until their terms expired, but they did not seek re-election in 1994. DeConcini was appointed by President Bill Clinton in February, 1995 to the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation. [1] Glenn did choose to run for re-election in 1992 and it was anticipated that he would have some difficulty winning a fourth term in the Senate. However, Glenn handily defeated Lieutenant Governor R. Michael DeWine for one more term in the Senate before retiring in 1999. The scandal was followed by a number of attempts to adopt campaign finance reform—spearheaded by U.S. Sen. David Boren (D-OK)—but most attempts died in committee. A weakened reform was passed in 1993. Substantial campaign finance reform was not passed until the adoption of the McCain-Feingold Act in 2002. The only member of the Keating Five still in the U.S. Senate is John McCain. John McCain was forced to re-invent himself as a campaign reformer in order to keep his seat in the Senate. Now he’s running for President, the biggest lobbyist haven of all. Spouse a common law wife Children some, maintained by natural mother concerned Kamal Karna Roy (a/k/a Kamal K.K. Roy, a/k/a Rev. Dr. Joseph Geronimo, Jr.) is a prolific pro se litigant who, since at least the early 1990s, has filed numerous lawsuits throughout the United States and its territories under the names Roy and Joseph Geronimo, Jr., as well as under the names of entities that he is affiliated with, including International Siva Consciousness & World Religions, Reforms International, Handicap Interests International, and Jungle Democracy.[1] Roy's lawsuits are often brought against multiple defendants, and feature long, unconventional complaints. Roy has filed lawsuits against God, U.S. Presidents, Supreme Court Justices, fast food restaurants, foreign leaders.[2], and Wikipedia [3] [4]. Roy's lawsuits have addressed, among many other things, actions taken by President George W. Bush, overcharging by telecommunication companies, the appointment of Chief Justice John Roberts to the Supreme Court, and "failure of democratic societies and God's role therein."[5] In 2006 Judge Michael W. McConnell of The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit described a typical Roy complaint: Roy, a/k/a Joseph Geronimo, Jr. filed a 115-page complaint, a 144-page amended complaint, and a 40-page second amended complaint against over sixty defendants, including among many others President Bush, God as U.S.-based divine benefactor, several government agencies, The New York Times, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. In addition to pages of rambling discourse, the complaint contains numerous illegible handwritten remarks.[6] The Tenth Circuit went on to affirm the district court's dismissal of the complaint holding that no discernible claim was apparent from the complaint. Judge McConnell also humorously noted that the court "strongly suspect[ed] at least one defendant was not properly served."[7] Most, if not all, of Roy's complaints have been dismissed. A 2006 United States District Court for the District of Delaware opinion, Jungle Democracy v. U.S., describes Roy as "no stranger to litigation" and provides a partial list of Roy lawsuits that have been dismissed since 1991.[8] Despite Roy's lack of success in the courts, his lawsuits have been discussed in law school classrooms and in law related blogs.[9] [10] In April 2007 Roy filed a civil rights action against, among others, CBS Broadcasting Inc., MSNBC, the United States Government, and controversial radio shock jock Don Imus.[11] In October, 2007, Roy filed a suit in the US District Court, Middle District of Florida, against "Wikipedia Encyclopedia, USA, All News Media, All State Board of Elections, Federal Election Commission".
